Not at all. The name says two of us — and that means any two people who matter to each other.

A quiet, dark-screen experience — chapter by chapter, with a title, a date, and the actual words from your conversation appearing on screen set to ambient music.
The AI reads your conversation, finds the emotional arc, names the chapters, and selects the moments that reveal who these two people are to each other. It doesn't invent anything. Every word on screen came from the chat.

How does twoofus.ai understand the relationship?
It reads the conversation itself — how you address each other, the topics you return to, the texture of your familiarity. It doesn't ask you to fill out a form or select a category.
After reading, it tells you what it found and gives you a chance to confirm or correct it before the film is made. If it gets it wrong, you can tell it in your own words.

What happens to my messages?
Your full conversation is processed entirely in your browser — the complete chat file is never uploaded anywhere.
To generate the film, a carefully selected sample of messages is sent from your browser to our server, and from there to the AI (Claude, by Anthropic). This sample contains actual message text — it has to, because that's what the film is made from. It is used only to generate your film and nothing else. It is not stored, not logged, not shared, and not used to train any AI model.

What format does the chat export need to be?
WhatsApp .txt or .zip export — both work, and you don't need to unzip anything.
To export from WhatsApp:
The Without Media option is important — twoofus.ai works with text only, so media files aren't needed and will just make the export larger.

A deliberate choice, not a limitation.
When photos are present, the eye goes to the image and the words become captions. twoofus.ai is built on the belief that the words are the story. "Dad, I miss you.." lands harder than the photo would. The imagination fills in what the image would show — and usually does it better.
Text-only also means your photos never pass through any server, which is better for privacy — especially for intimate conversations.

Can I use a group chat?
twoofus.ai is made for conversations between two people — where the intimacy, the shorthand, the rhythm of just the two of you lives.
Group chats don't have that. The dynamic is different, the story is harder to find, and the film loses the quality that makes it worth keeping.
If you want to make a film from a specific relationship within a group, export a one-on-one chat with that person instead.

Nobody but you, unless you choose to share it.
The film is yours. twoofus.ai doesn't host it, publish it, or make it accessible to anyone else. When you download it, it lives on your device.

What languages does it support?
The AI reads conversations in any language. Films from English, Hindi, Spanish, Hinglish, Spanglish, and regional language chats all work — the chapter titles and narrative will follow the dominant language of the conversation.

The relationship inference felt off. What do I do?
Tap It's different — let me say on the confirmation screen and describe the relationship in your own words. A few words is enough: "uncle and niece", "college friends who lost touch", "mother and son". The AI will use that to shape the film correctly.
Can I make multiple films?
Yes. Each film is a separate upload and a separate payment. There's no limit to how many you make.
